This attribute is demonstrated by the development of a new 530,000 square foot open-air shopping center, two new townhome complexes with over 400 homes, the St. Petersburg College Caruth Health Education Center, and the new 16,000 square foot Park Station. Land Use: More than half of the district has the CRD land use designation. This designation encourages flexibility and a mix of uses. The remainder is divided between industrial, commercial, and residential uses. Public Investments: Enhancements made along Park Boulevard include landscaping and median improvements, overhead wire relocation, street-lighting improvements and Park Station – which hosts the Chamber of Commerce, local art society, and the historical society. Land has also been purchased to further enhance the drainage improvements that are currently under construction. In addition, the countywide transit authority plans to enhance bus service on U.S. 19, Park Boulevard, and 66th Street, and construct a Park ‘N Ride facility near the former mall.
