West Bay Drive District Largo Industrial District West Bay Drive District ![]() District Type: Downtown, Employment District Assets: The key feature of this district is West Bay Drive, the city's historic downtown, which the state has recognized as a Florida Main Street . It is minutes away from the Gulf beaches and downtown Clearwater, and less than a half-hour from the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport. Land Use: The district contains a mix of office, retail, and both single and multifamily residential uses, including newly redeveloped townhomes and shops built in a traditional downtown style. Public Investments: The city has invested heavily in streetscaping, repaving, providing architectural assistance, and attracting quality redevelopment to West Bay Drive. A similar program has begun for Clearwater/Largo Road. Largo Industrial District ![]() District Type: Employment District Assets: Major roadways Ulmerton Road, Bryan-Dairy Road, Belcher Road, and 66th Street are within the district, along with the CSX railroad line. Nearby U.S. 19 allows convenient travel throughout Pinellas and into adjacent counties. The St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport is about fifteen minutes away. Land Use: Nearly half of the land is designated for industrial use, and about a third is devoted to residential uses, primarily single-family and mobile homes. A large number of properties are vacant and available for development or redevelopment. Public Investments: The countywide transit authority has increased bus service on Bryan-Dairy Road and 66th Street. The MPO has plans to improve Ulmerton and Bryan-Dairy Roads from four lane to six lane corridors. |
